Okay, let's do something fun for the younger set. Your assignment today (old or young) is to make up an animal. Maybe he or she would be your perfect pet - or your perfect game to hunt! Whichever, describe it to us. Would it be a reptile, a fish, or a new class of animal altogether? Fur or scales? Color? Spots? SIZE? or size?
What kind of sound would it make, or how many teeth would it have?
How many legs, wings or trunks? What would it eat? Would it be cuddly, or ferocious? (And if you had one for a pet, what would you name it? What games would you play with it?) Would it make a helpful contribution to the world, or to your life?
You don't have to answer all these questions; just help us get to know your fictional creature.

Just a round ball of fur with big cute eye's, it bounces every where it goes, it could be from the size of your thumb to the size of a basket ball...and it can be any color. (It would be a pet):-)

My new animal would be the perfect pet. She would be small enough to sit comfortably in my lap, but would never jump up uninvited She would be cute and cuddly, quietly purring to everyone except intruders. To them, she would show the fiercest nature, complete with huge roar, retractable claws and sharp teeth. Her fuzzy skin would look like honey-colored suede, and would never shed; she would groom herself and never need bathing. She would eat whatever she’s given, and never complain or get sick. I’m not sure what we’d name her, but it wouldn’t matter, since she would respond perfectly to the tone of our voice, no matter what we called her.
Ethan's first language arts assignment age 3
His name is Beba Bear, he is a furry, round blue bear that has a LOUD growl. He has 5 long skinny legs, 5 eyes, 2 long squiggly ears. His tail is like a lightening bolt.
Welcome, Ethan! Great work! I like Beba Bear.
