UPDATE: THE DEADLINE FOR OUR STORY HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO MIDNIGHT ON MONDAY, APRIL 30TH. NEW CHALLENGE WILL START ON TUESDAY.
It's time!
Time for another challenge. Thanks so much for all your entries on the last post. It was such fun to read your reflections!
Okay, it had to happen. A continuous story.
But to keep it lively and to keep it from launching into oblivious silliness, I am setting up a few rules. PLEASE READ THEM CAREFULLY.
1. I get to start it.
2. Try to keep it unified. Let's keep characters to a few, and events well coordinated (in other words, try to keep the story following some logical sequence). Having said that, you can still surprise us, it can take twists and turns, and it can definitely be funny!
3. Unique handicap: (This is a rule.) You can only add one sentence at a time (but you can add a short exclamation such as Oh! along with your sentence), and your sentence must start with the letter the last person's sentence ended with.
4. You can post as many times as you want, but you cannot post just after your last addition. You have to let there be 2 sentences in between each of your turns.
5. I guess it needs an end, so we'll set this deadline to end the story: Thursday, the 26th. If you really, really want to have the final word, you may have to stay up late, because on the 27th the party's over.
So I am taking a deep breath and trying to trust you guys on this!
For the story's original sentence, something not at all original. I am borrowing from Snoopy (or whoever Charles Schultz borrowed from):
It was a dark and stormy night.
Okay, your turn.

It was a dark and stormy night.
...The darkest and stormiest night of the year.
Ronald sat under a wimpy little tree, trying to shield himself from the millions of raindrops falling violently all around him.
"Man, I sure did take a wrong turn somewhere," he said to himself.
Fumbling in his pack, Ronald soon pulled forth a round loaf of bread and began to fill his empty stomach as he waited out the storm.
(Hannah)
Most people would not venture forth in such a storm as this but Ronald finished his meager meal and rising from the cover of the tree he began to journey on.
Cathy S
Night began to fade, the storm let up, as the sun began rising over the hills.
Josh S
Suddenly a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sunrise.
Hannah s
Eventually after walking for many hours Ronald reached the foot of the hills.
Caleb S
Slowly but surely he began to climb up the imposing hill.
Charity S
Looking far ahead up the hill he noticed a strange figure on the horizon.
Nevertheless,Ronald walked up the hill towards the strange figure.
Catherine W
Egore, the figure on the hill glared a Ronald suspiciously.
Charity S
"You must be the one they call Ronald," Egore called out in a condescending tone.
"Every day for the past ten years, through fair weather and foul, I have been searching for you, and finally here in the hills of Monthusa, I have finally found you", Ronald replied to Egore.
Cathy S
"Enough!" said Egore. "Let us waste no more words. We both know why you are here."
oops
SORRY! I have ruined the family
Every word that Ronald spoke was stuttered through laboriously: "I have come, like I said, through both fair weather and foul, and sitting under many wimpy trees, because I have heard tales that you are able to do something really, really cool."
"Let me do some magic tricks for you," remarked Egore with excitement.
Then Ronald sat down and clapped his hands in sheer glee.
Charity S.
Eagore twirled around three times and disappeared.
Cathy S
"Darn!... he's gone again!"said Ronald as he perplexedly looked all about the surrounding area.
Caleb S
All of a sudden, Ronald felt a cold hand on his shoulder, turning abrubtly he saw a most terrifying sight!
EA :)
The worst of Ronald's fear's came true just then, for it was none other than Mr. Freeze, the mortal enemy of Batman!!!!
"NOOOOO!!!" screamed Ronald, "I'm cold!!!"
"Dare not touch me again Mr. Freeze! Else I shall be forced to demonstraite my Tae-Kwan-Do on you!"
Charity S.
Unbeknownst to Mr. Freeze, Ronald did not actually know Tae-Kwon-Do, but the threat turned out to be an effective one.
"Even though you feel safe now, you will not be spared, for the bread you ate was poisoned!" countered the cold-hearted criminal.
-Josh & Abby
"Like, what do you have against me?" asked Ronald.
"Don't play innocent with me, Ronald," sneered Mr. Freeze, "for you know very well what happened on a certain Tuesday afternoon just two weeks ago!"
"Oh,that?" said Ronald.
Charity S
"Dear me! That was just a childish joke. Hardly anything to get upset about," said Ronald, restlessly glancing up at Mr. Freeze.
-CW-
"Especially not worth poisoning me for!" Ronald added ,as he began to feel the effects of the poison.
Cathy S
"Noooo...! Mr. Freeze cried as he realized his mistake.
Josh s.
Egore chose that moment to reappear.
Hannah s
Recomposing himself after that strange unknown adventure, Egore turned to find himself face to face with Mr. Freeze.
Ever so gradually, a figure on the horizon had been getting larger - now Ronald could see that it was Bill Gates himself!
"Freeze, you must stop this wickedness!" Shouted Bill.
"Lest I delete you from my desktop and you never appear in this story again!" he added as he threateningly waved a laptop computer in the air above his head.
Cathy S
"Doggone it," Mr. Freeze whined, "no wonder they call you Big Bully Bill..."
Luckily for Bill, Egore, and Ronald, Mr. Freeze is a coward when near Bill, so Freeze turned away and fled.
Despite this stroke of good fortune, Ronald was feeling more and more the intoxication that had arisen from his consumption of the round loaf of bread.
Death would soon befall him, he was afraid, unless perhaps he paid a visit to the famous Dr. Seuss...
"Say, that's just what I'll do, I'll pay a visit to Seuss," said Ronald.
Dear Dr. Seuss would know what to do.
Over the hills of Monthusa Ronald, Egore and Bill traveled until they came to the tiny village where Dr. Suess lived.
Cathy S
Dragging the unconscious form of Ronald between them they knocked madly on Seuss' door.
Caleb S.
Right then they heard a gruff voice from within.
"NOT DEAD!....."MOSTLY" dead" said the voice as the door flew open.
Cathy S.
"Now go away!" said a little old man, who was surely NOT Seuss.
Caleb S.
"Stop! Don't go! You must at least look at him first!" exclaimed Egore.
-Catherine W-
"Eh, I am only the butler; what do you want of me?" asked the little old man.
"Nothing but the good doctor to help our friend Ronald!"
"Don't think that'll work since he's dead himself" mumbled the butler.
Charity S.
Realizing his comment had shocked the group, the butler grudgingly ushered them into the parlor.
....Right past a rather large cat... in a hat :)
Okay, I've had a request for one more extension. Till noon Tuesday. You're on T.....
The butler led them into a very large room with strange-looking contraptions everywhere.
-Catherine W-
"Eh, what's this doing here?!" gasped Ronald, pointing to a small box labeled "Egore's Magic Freezing Machine".
Everyone stared at Egore suspiciously, while glad that Ronald had regained consciousness so fast.
Then to everyone's shocked surprise Mr. Freeze came walking into the room.
Cathy S
Mr. Bill was ready he whipped out his laptop and quickly clicked on the delete Mr. Freeze icon.
Caleb S
"NOOOO....I'm melting!" Mr. Freeze screamed as he faded away.
Yes...in no time at all, Mr. Freeze was nothing more than a puddle on the floor.
Relieved, Egore mopped up the puddle, but then turned to Ronald and asked, "What DID happen between you and Mr. Freeze, on a certain Tuesday afternoon just two weeks ago?"
"Oh great" said Ronald "How am I supposed to explain this?"
Hannah S
"See, we were both at Bojangles having dinner, but neither of us knew the other was there..."
"Evidently, Mr. Freeze (who was a few people behind me in line) was planning on ordering a spicy chicken sandwich, but I unwittingly ordered the last one, leaving nothing for him."
"Maybe we would have been BFFs forever... but it was not to be....oh well" Ronald said with a sigh.
Charity S .
Happily, everyone noticed that Ronald had completely recovered from the poison Mr. Freeze had put in his bread , without the help of Dr. Seuss.
Cathy S
Said Ronald," While everyone else was talking to the butler, I noticed a plate of green eggs and ham that looked so yummy I just had to take a bite."
"Everyone should eat green eggs and ham...they did wonders for me!!"
Egore, Ronald and Bill left Dr. Seuss' house riding in the Seussmobile.
Hannah S
Everyone lived happily ever after... (The End.)
